The mission of Girl Scouting is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. The Girl Scout program is based on the Girl Scout Promise and Law and four fundamental goals that encourage girls to develop to their full potential, to relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect, to develop a meaningful set of values to guide their actions and to provide for sound decision making, and to contribute to the improvement of society. Girl Scouting is open to all girls ages 5-17. The Lake Hills Service Unit, which is part of the Girl Scouts-Lone Star Council (girlscouts-lonestar.org), serves girls in the LTISD area. There are different program levels for each age group: Daisies (Kinder), Brownies (1st-3rd), Juniors (4th-6th), Cadettes (7th-9th), and Seniors (10th-12th). The program is run by volunteers, and troop meetings are determined on an individual basis.
