The Rucker Family

Rob, Tammie, Tab & Rinn
Since relocating from Houston in 1998, this family of proud Native Texans has been actively engaged at Emmaus Catholic Parish. As owners of their own business, Don Rucker Tire & Wheel, Rob and Tammie have very busy lives, but always make time to participate in their parish family at Emmaus.
In addition to being a co-owner and instructor at Lakeway Jazzercise, energetic Tammie long ago found her niche teaching Faith Formation classes. It all began when oldest son, Tab, was a kindergarten student…he is currently a member of the Texas Tech collegiate wakeboard team, so she has been doing this for a “few” years! This year she will serve as a catechist in the Middle School and High School classes, as well as helping to prepare students for Confirmation.
As a family, the Ruckers are avid boaters which is how Tab’s interest in wakeboarding developed. Rinn loves music and plays on the drum line of the Lake Travis High School Cavalier Band. They all volunteer at Fall Fest each year.
On any given Sunday, you may find the Rucker Father/Son team, Rob & Rinn (and Tab prior to leaving for college), serving our parish family as Ushers. When they were younger, the sons participated as Altar Servers. Tammie openly admits “volunteering” Rob when they first moved here; his reward has been the many valued friendships that blossomed along the way. Rob was a member of CRHP team 6 and Tammie was part of teams 5 & 6.
When asked, “Why new parishioners should get involved at Emmaus,” Tammie responded: “You make so many friends and connect with so many different people. It's awesome to see the Holy Spirit working through different aspects of the Emmaus community. We are all one body, and it is so prevalent when you volunteer, and can see how we all make up that body. You are given so many blessings spiritually, emotionally, mentally and even physically (you gotta use your muscles to smile, right?) when you give to the parish.”
Thank you to the Rucker Family for blessing all of us with their presence and talents!
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)
