Children 7 & Older
In order to offer the best support for parents in preparing for a child's baptism, our parish requires participation in a baptism preparation process. This two step process is designed to help parents understand the Sacrament of Baptism and to offer them support in helping their child to fully live the gifts received in Baptism.
Children Under the Age of 7
#1. Parents and Godparents attend a Baptism Class
Emmaus holds a Baptism Class every month. Please consult the class schedule link to the right. Parents can schedule a time to participate in the class by contacting the parish office (512) 261-8500 or email: baptism@emmauslakeway.com
#2. Parents submit required paperwork.
The following is required in order to schedule your child's baptism:
- Copy of birth certificate
- Completed Godparent Form. CLICK HERE to download form.
These documents may be submitted by mail, fax, in person or email sent to
baptism@emmauslakeway.com
Either Fr Samuel or a Deacon will perform the Baptism.
The following options are available to have Fr Samuel do the Baptism:
There is a baptism preparation class for children once they reach this age. Parents will also participate in the process. Call the office at 261-8500 to learn more about classes for you and your child.
Teens - Prepare for baptism through our Faith Formation Program. Call the Faith Formation office to schedule.
