JOURNEY
EMMAUS MIDDLE SCHOOL MINISTRY
GRADES 6-8
Designed with middle school needs and energy in mind! This program is dynamic, experiential, and will include a variety of educational, worship, prayer, social, and service opportunities designed to build Catholic community. Students are encouraged to take part in all areas of the Journey program to fully develope their faith. Our goal is to empower students to respond to God's presence in their daily lives.
Journey religious education classes meet on Sunday at 8:30am or 11:10am or Wednesday* at 6:30pm. An overnight retreat is normally offered in the fall, a Traveling Overnighter in the spring, as welll as several service and social opportunities throughout the year. CLICK HERE for the current schedule of classes and events.
Journey combines resources from the Discovering series by St. Mary's Press, the Catholic Faith Handbook for Youth, the Break Through Bible, and Life Teen's Edge program in order to offer a well rounded curriculum to our students.
We will offer youth group service, social, and retreat activities based on interest and volunteer help. We welcome and need volunteers as catechists and assistants, for social events, service projects and retreats, as chaperones, and on field trips to transport students. We need folks to take photographs, provide childcare for our catechists, and snacks for our students. In addition we would love storytellers, seamstresses, and musicians. Parent partnership in this ministry indispensable. Be a spiritual role model for your adolescent!
If you can volunteer a small amount of time to help our ministry please email Julie Sawyer, or call 261-8500, ext. 302.
* Wednesday evening classes include praise & worship music.
