Diocesan Catholic Youth Conference (DCYC)
January 29-31, Waco, Texas
Outcry students are encouraged to plan now for DCYC. The theme this year is “Restless.” St. Augustine of Hippo, doctor of the Church, teaches us about the power of conversion, forgiveness, and God’s love. We are excited to announce that this year’s theme is inspired by his quote: “for you have made us for yourself, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.” We are also asking for his intercession as we plan this year’s conference. Mobile Loaves & Fishes Training Session

This training session will encompass general information about the ministry, time commitment, how to log on and navigate the Mobile Loaves & Fishes website to plan your own itinerary, training for both the make-ready and truck prep volunteer teams, upcoming volunteer sign-up for the 2016 calendar year, and input on commissary feasibility at our parish. Stress Reduction for the Holidays

Emmaus' Parenting Support Group - for not so traditional parents - invites you to join them for this timely discussion. Sometimes being a non-traditional parent offers special challenges. Whether you’re a single or two-parent household, co-parents sharing custody, grandparents raising a grandchild, or other non-custodial family member raising school-aged children (grades K-12), this self-help family and peer support group is here to help. The parish nursery may be available for those who call the parish office at least 72 hours in advance to reserve. RSVP through Parenting Support on The City. Advent Giving Trees

Our Advent Giving Tree will soon appear in the narthex at Emmaus. Please choose tags from the tree, purchase the requested items or gift cards, and return the unwrapped items with the tags attached. For your convenience, gift cards are available for purchase before and after masses or from the parish office. At Queen of Angels Chapel, an Advent Giving Tree provides opportunities to purchase requested gifts in support of families in need through the St. Vincent de Paul program. Church Wide Wednesday
Wednesday, December 2, 5:30-7:30 PM in the Church and PLC Great Hall
Our December 2 event will focus on the season of Advent. Join with us for a liturgy at 5:30 in the Church, and then move to the Great Hall for a potluck supper, crafts, and fun. Bring your favorite potluck dish for 8, grab your friends and family members, and let’s SHARE in faith, food, and fellowship. We’ll pray together, learn together, eat together, and laugh together! Please note that Faith Formation classes DO NOT meet on these first Wednesdays so that families (and single adults) will join in the festivities! This event will also feature an Advent Market Clearance Sale, with 100% of income benefiting a family in need this holiday season. Join us to purchase advent calendars, advent wreaths and candles, and so much more, all at drastically reduced prices so that everyone can afford to bring Advent into their homes.

Gather in the narthex with your fellow parishioners following 5 PM Mass. Relax and enjoy some casual time with friends, old and new! Join us for a glass of wine, a beer and snacks. This popular event happens about once a month. Please join us…all are welcome!
Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe
Saturday, December 12, beginning at 5 AM in the Church and Great Hall
All are invited to join in our celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The day will begin at 5 AM with Las Mananitas, featuring mariachis and Emmaus' OLG Dance Troupe. Mass will follow at 6:15 AM with a reception afterward in the Great Hall. In addition, participants in the 33 Days to Morning Glory program will celebrate their consecration to Mary.
December 16-24 at various homes and ending December 24 at Emmaus
Las Posadas will take place in host homes and involve the participation of neighbors and parishioners. On December 24, the Gran Posada will be held at Emmaus preceding the 8 PM Christmas Eve mass, and will be followed by Arrullo, the Nativity of the Lord. For locations of the neighborhood Posadas, please pick up a flyer from the narthex.
Gingerbread House Decorating
Sunday, December 20, 1:30-3:30 PM in the Great Hall
Elementary-age children and their parents are invited to come decorate gingerbread houses. Please bring a candy decorating item to share (M&Ms, red hots, etc.). Cookies and hot chocolate will be served. RSVP through CLUB 10:14 on The City. If you are not already a group member, you will be asked to join.
